The Homosassa Springs are the start of the Homosassa River, a 9-mile waterway to the Gulf of Mexico through some of the most breathtaking scenery in the world.  Every second of every day, about 100 cubic feet of water gush from underground into the 45 ft. deep Homosassa Spring, amounting to more than 64 million gallons of water per day. The spring outflow creates the river.  Travel by boat down the river to the Gulf and you can find scallops sitting in seagrass beds under five or six feet of water on the bottom of the Gulf of Mexico

If you prefer to bring your own boat, you can trailer it to one of Homosassa’s boat ramps . You can launch your boat and go on your adventure
